Agency Work
To see examples of agency work that I have done which are not on display here please contact me directly.

marietomeoki.com
A portfolio site for a fine artist - this website was developed in AS3 from completed designs - using a typical combination of XML, AMFPHP, basic OOP, dynamically loaded data, etc.

1 Bloor
A Flash site for the new condominium/hotel/shopping centre that is to be built at the corner of Bloor and Yonge by Bazis International. Note: The full Flash site is scheduled to go live mid-late Nov. 2007.

My role in this project was as the sole developer for the site - implementing site construction, menu system, media integration, as well as various code based animations. This was produced while working as a freelancer for Montana Steele Advertising.

Bazis International Corporate Site
For this project I was tasked with reconfiguring the corporate Flash site for Bazis International to separate their global building projects and their Toronto projects into two different sections. The site was initially built to display these projects in one animated rolodex. I had to hack it to display two rolodexes showing the two different sets of projects, in a short amount of time. This was produced while working as a freelancer for Montana Steele Advertising.

Beyond The Sea Condos
A simple PHP/HTML site built for Beyond The Sea Condos. Note: The full site is scheduled to go live mid-late Nov. 2007.

I built this site from detailed PSD/INDD design files using PHP and a DIV/CSS based HTML structure. This was produced while working as a freelancer for Montana Steele Advertising.

The Palm Condos
A basic Flash site built for The Palm Condos. Note: The full Flash site is scheduled to go live mid-late Nov. 2007.

My role on this project was to build the site on top of a previous sites code (layout and screen animation methods) and reconfigure it to work with the Palm Condos design/vision. Built from detailed PSD/INDD designs. This was produced while working as a freelancer for Montana Steele Advertising.

The Village International Education Centre
A site redesign for a small school in Bangkok, Thailand for people with special learning needs.

The site was converted to a Joomla CMS installation and I created the theme based partially on their previous site design.

Ghosts of Industry
An advanced prototype of an Interactive Documentary on which I was the Programmer and Designer - produced with Kurtis Lesick and HUMANUS Visual Media.

We sought to create a highly atmospheric, engaging interactive experience which spotlights the origins of Alberta's Oil Sands production from its roots in Bitumount, Alberta - which has since become an industrial ghost town.

HorizonZero : Issue 12
Main Interface - This link takes you to the Main Interface for Issue 12. This interface epitomises what we were able to do with navigation and site structure while I was at HorizonZero.

The interface was conceived of by me in collaboration with the Graphic Designer. I coded the entire interface - e.g. the star rollovers, the constellation animation behaviour, the constellation line drawing behaviour, etc...

The same holds true for all the other interfaces (either by myself or in collaboration with the Graphic Designer) and 95% of all the interactive pieces or features within the HorizonZero Flash site. If it interacted with the user or any other aspect of the site, moved or animated (and wasn't strict keyframe animation), I coded it in Actionscript.

HorizonZero : Issue 11
Horizontal - This is a simple presentation of four circular 360 panoramic images.

With this interactive presentation, I wanted to make sure that the interactivity enhanced but did not interfere with the presentation of the images - that the image rotation behaviour gave the user the chance to view the image from any angle.

HorizonZero : Issue 10
Underland - A 3D game modeller was commissioned to produce a 3D environment for this Issue. It was my job to collaborate with her to make her model an interactive walkthrough.

Authoring in AxelEdge software, the designer's models were imported and I added all the interactivity - the cursor/camera movement, the audio triggers, the warp zone/transport behaviour that linked the different parts of her world, etc...

HorizonZero : Issue 9
Hot Docs - This is a video presentation of numerous short clips from various film-makers and film-movers recorded at the Hot Docs Film Festival, 2003, in Toronto.

I conceived of the layout and interactivity for this piece. Because of the sheer amount of information that had to be put into this feature, there wasn't much of a choice but to opt for basic video controls (clicking on the thumbnail of each person starts and stops the videos) and a static layout. The activiating of specific people when they have a video helps to add to the explorative feeling of the piece.

HorizonZero : Issue 8
Audio Remix Gallery - This is a page displaying six different audio tracks that were part of an audio remix chain.

Not only did I have the chance to be one of the contributing artists to this feature, I (along with the Graphic Designer) proposed the idea for this feature. I also conceived of the interactive presentation - the horizontally scrolling sub-nav, audio control placement, etc...

HorizonZero : Issue 7
Poetry Submission Engine and Archive - This is an archive of brief pieces of poetry that visitors submitted to Issue 7. You can scroll horizontally to access any submission that has been made, from most recent on the left to the oldest on the right. A timestamp associated with each submission draws: the font style, text animation, and background graphic - from three different libraries.

Visitors sumbit their poems while viewing one of eight different poems that were created specifically for this issue. (You can view one here, or by clicking on the petals of the flower in the Issue, which is the primary nav system.)

There is a little submission box that appears in each of the eight poems, where the visitor can start and add lines to his or her poem while viewing the eight main poems. When s/he is finished, s/he can submit his/her poem and then immediately view it in the poetry engine.

I designed and coded the entire engine, as well as the user submission process - including the design of the information set for the database.
